The New Jaguar XJ Reveal - LIVE on Cars UK
During the evening – as soon as the embargo is lifted – we will be bringing you comprehensive details and images on what exactly the new Jaguar XJ has to offer. We’ve been teased to death by Jaguar with snippets on everything from the new XJ Sound System to a shot of a new Jaguar headrest as the new XJ interior tease, but finally we will get to see the new XJ in all its glory. The reveal of the new XJ is scheduled for 8.15pm tomorrow (7.15pm GMT), so make sure you get along early to catch the show.
But Land Rover did tell us the 4.4 litre TDV8 will be joining the range later in the year and that a diesel-electric hybrid would be on offer too. And now we know that the diesel hybrid Range Rover Sport – and a Range Rover Hybrid – will both debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Stuart Frith, LR’s head programme engineer for the new RRS, has confirmed to Car Sales in Australia that the hybrid Range Rover and Sport will arrive in September – as will the TDV8 RRS – but that the 2.0 litre EcoBoost petrol engine for the RRS is still a way off, even though Land Rover are already running it and believe it still offers all a real Range Rover Sport should.
Tom Matano – designer of the Mazda MX-5 and executive director of industrial design at Academy of Art University – is the subject of Road & Track's second ‘The Five Minute Car Design' video feature. The R&T crew headed to Matano's design studio and asked him to create his ideal sedan in just five minutes before destroying it at the end of the film. This latest video is the second in the series, which started with Ian Cartabiano from Calty Design in California design and destroy his ultimate sports car.
